Jach, must agree on the fundamental analysis. However, I was once burnt with great company like IFMX compared to ORCL and Microsoft, there is also Pairgain that paled compared to the other ADSL companies. Take the case of Amgen compared to Merck and Pfizer. I know Amgen is a biotech but I used it as an illustration.

Am concern that the street just turn finicky and drag everyone with the negative sentiment. As always sentiment be it positive and negative tends to feed on itself and the result are affected along with the customers.

Hope you are right on the earning estimate. :)

Re: IMO, they can beat the estimate of -4c to -3c. IMO, they'll likely come in at breakeven on a 1 to 2c lost.

Well, so much for foundationless opinions, aye! What made you think that Ciena would come in at breakeven or thereabouts when the Ceo did his best to downplay expectations for the quarter?

Jach and all long term CIEN fan, get ready for a shakedown not so much for CIEN but the market as a whole. Remember the game plan be it short term or long term or both.

If you like CIEN then get ready to buy when it falls. If you are short, get ready to take profit while you can before things turns.

In short, good luck to all.
