Thread,

DELL may be poised for an upswing. Techs are much improved and trading range is narrowing....

I suggest you consider this "scenario" before you get too exited about ROTH. What if the IRS either under pressure from the Repubs or under pressure internally due to Y2K problems decides to revamp the tax system and base it on a flat tax or modified flat tax system in the next few years. Funny thing would be the Government would be able to keep their word and let you remove the money tax free BUT and I repeat BUT when you tried to spend it, you would still be taxed!!! Now that same money in an IRA is removed after the change with no tax penalty since the tax rules have changed. Lesson... Pay now and save later is fine as long as everyone agrees to play by the rules. You are much more trusting than I am. I'll keep my IRAs. (just my opinion). One thing we agree on is DELL is a GREAT investment.

When I bought it in my 401k, I had 33 years to early withdrawal. That was 2 years ago.

At the very least my retirement will be plush!
