Paul,

I put Korea and China in the same group. Both countries have a lot of political will to do the right thing but the problems are massive. Just like the US, they have their spin doctors trying to present the best case scenario to their respective citizens, investors and whoever interested.

The math is rather straight forward. Reducing debt-equity ratio just by using an eraser works in a college accounting class. How you do it in the real world is quite a different story. I read a headline that unemployment in Korea is artificially held down by "government" jobs. Anyone got more details?
