But can't you buy back your calls? Sounds stupid but if there is another way I would like to know for FYI.

Don't know what preceded that question but if you sold calls and now want to buy them back - one way of making it cheaper to do so if you want to go long the stock is sell the puts and add/use that to buy back your calls.
