<revised> Dear Mike, you sez, "What you are saying is that it is like Jean Valjean in Les Miserables. He did steal the bread. But the cop went nutso. And the music sucks, too. <G>"

Definitely <g>. But not only the music sucks, but also it is being broadcast using the old Grateful Dead's gears - the Wall of Sound! The net effect <wink> is that many people have become [tone] deaf to the Sound and the Fury!

On a more serious note, the Red Scare cost the US a lot. Thanks to Tail gun joe and his motley crew, the US in effect helped to jumpstart the Chinese's missile programme [cf see Ms Iris Chang's "Thread of The Silkworm."]
best, Bosco

This morning's dip appears to be bought. The sounds they are here in the Bull Country Club Golf course are not Bear f*arts. It is the thunder from the storm clouds around them. They better clear the grounds NOW. Lightning is going to strike by today's close and a devastating storm is on the horizon for the next week. So says, my bird. -g-

Maybe the music did suck -- but it is a good story.
