Claugus' comments don't make much sense to me, either, Michael. Just the fact that he's "recognizing" MSFT coming from the low end suggests that the guy is probably a bit short on vision. I suppose if you're an analyst it's a pretty good bet these days to place your chips on MSFT in any arena they enter, but that's a gutless way to go. I'm willing to put a couple $K on Larry's vision for the future. Bill pays a lot of lip service to envisioning and then creating the computing paradigms of the future, but his products don't do much to back up his words. It's clear to me that Larry's willing to put his money where his mouth is, naysayers be damned. If he's wrong, he admits it and takes his hits. But damn, the guy comes back fighting.

I'll never forget an interview I saw with Larry during the height of the PC explosion, him sitting there in his beautiful Asian-style mansion, railing against the PC. I'm thinking, "Either this guy is totally nuts, or he's a genius; either way I have to get my hands on his stock." I haven't looked back since.
