Like so many others, you don't get it or "can't stand the truth".

This is a country that was built upon laws and the adherence to the rule of law, which is applicable to EVERYONE regardless of position. Our Republic is not run by a monarchy or PR polls. To be factual, it is a Republic not a democracy, which I'm sure you'll have a problem understanding the the generic distinction between the two. There is no reference anywhere in the constitution referring to our form of government as a democracy; there are only references to a Republic. I'm sure you will presume to know that the founding fathers meant some thing else. Supporters of Clinton obfuscate the undeniable truth that lying under oat, regardless of the subject about which the lie is related, is not perjury or a felony, i.e., a high crime.

If Christ had done a poll, he never would have given His sermon on the mount.

Merry Christmas

Thomas-

<<Since about 75% of the publics polled are for stopping these proceedings against our president it is obvious that the will of the people is not being carried out.>>

What, may I ask, does that have to do with it? This happens to be a search for justice and what is best for the nation, not a popularity contest. As I've said before on this thread, the essence of representative democracy is that the popular will is mediated by institutions. According to the view of certain individuals responsible for setting up the government of this nation (do the names Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin and George Washington ring a bell?)a legislator is not in office simply to mirror what 75% of people think at any given moment. In fact, these gentlemen were highly suspicious of the popular will.

You seem to think by smearing your opponents ("The more rabid the rhetoric") you can dismiss the charges. Oh well, I guess that's easier than defending a president whose defenders on Capital Hill now say he should be merely censored.

Larry

P.S. Do you really think perjury and obstruction of justice should be accepted by the President of the United States, or do you simply deny your boy engaged in anything so nefarious? Or do you simply ignore the issue as being too taxing to the brain?
