I'm refering to the fact that Poll results showed that less than 20% of the public believed her allegations until August of last summer. If you don't know it, after that time polls showed over 60% of Americans DO believe her story. I guess you didn't know- but in that light I think you can see why she was willing to gave up on getting an apology she was never going to get. This was the kind of understanding she wanted to get by winning her case in court and it became unnecessary.
