Compaq Increases Cash Dividend HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 1998--Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE:CPQ - news) today announced a 33 percent increase in its quarterly dividend from $.015 to $.02 per common share. ''The increase in our dividend expands our program to share our success with our shareholders,'' said Benjamin M. Rosen, Chairman. ''This action reflects our strong belief in Compaq's long-term growth. ''Compaq's dividends give our stockholders a choice about increasing their investment in Compaq. We are pleased at the confidence that our stockholders demonstrate in Compaq's future. Today, close to one-third of our record holders participate in the dividend reinvestment and direct stock purchase plan that we instituted early this year. In fact, we now have more participants in the plan than we did record holders at the beginning of the year,'' said Rosen.
