Excluding the effect of one-time charges associated with purchased research and development, litigation and merger costs, net income for the year was $83.2 million, or $0.77 per share compared to $120.5 million or $1.15 per share for the same period a year ago.(1) Revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1998 totaled $91.2 million as compared to revenue of $130.1 million for the same period in 1997.
