Good call today, Voltaire. How low do you think they'll take the DOW? 8400-8500 would be about a 50% retracement of the up move and about a 10% decline from the recent high. I don't see them getting much more mileage out of this impeachment stuff than that. The real unpredictable variables in all this are the foreign markets' reactions to this retracement and continued earnings warnings. Both will contribute to volatility through early January, IMO, but the foreign markets' reactions could turn into one of those self-feeding frenzies again. Last year this time we got a second large down move after an apparent recovery from the first bout of "Asian flu" and then took off from there. I see a repeat lining up at this point.

Rich

btw, I am gaining a lot more respect for you and your angels each day. You seem to have real balance. Please keep posting.

What appears to be a fact today is that Dell hung really tough for hours at ~68 while the NAS was tankng. Its appropriate to try to buy it for less in case of a spike down but the chance is slim.
Some data from the past shows me the NAS often has to go down around 20 points to take Dell down with it.
I don't make an estimate on what Dell will do in the next week
Those recent reports on great Computer demand coupled with good Holiday sales at re-sellers should keep Dell moving up along with other stocks. Unless the MM's can hold it down(and how will we know they did it?). Perhaps they want it at say, 75??
Whatever happens its fun to watch and another verification or
disproof of Ben's Max Pain theory.
