AR, I do exactly what you do. Not only that, the portfolios I managed at mutual fund cos., a hedge fund, and an insurance co. did the same thing. Which meant I always looked immediately stupid for putting on any options trade. But the bid and offer are fair prices, because that is where you can lose the positions if you had to do so. And, who cares what you look like immediately. Like Silky Sullivan, the object is to be first at the end of the race, not the beginning. <G>
