I thought it was "Producer Price Index" and is a measure of inflation (but I could be wrong)

Hi Papaya, Yes it is Producer Price Index - almost like the consumer price index except its done by manufacturer's regarding their prices for purchase by wholesalers and distributers.

Maybe you can help me out - I was trying to check the price of gold today using this site:
cbs.marketwatch.com

and it wasn't until after the close that I checked:
mrci.com

because I thought it odd that the price hadn't moved. So I'm guessing the problem is that the GC=Z8 is old (from the first site). Could you please supply me with the new symbol (if this guess of mine is correct) or even another site to check the gold price throughout the day. I haven't bought any gold stocks since early October but probably would have today but I was confused that the price was stuck.

Thanks in advance Papaya. I always look forward to reading your posts.

Shelia
