P-Com Inc. Receives Purchase Orders in Excess of $1.4 Million From African Service Providers CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1998--P-Com Inc. (NASDAQ/NMS: PCMS - news), announced today that is has received purchase orders from service providers in Africa for the supply of spread spectrum radio systems. The orders, valued in excess of $1.4 million, are to be used to replace the current wired leased lines in certain metropolitan areas, as last mile wireless connectivity solutions tend to enable more users in any given area and allow for higher data rates, thereby helping ensure the transmission of voice and data information. P-Com Inc. develops manufactures and markets network access systems for the worldwide wireless telecommunications market.
