Emile,

I've asked too many times to bother doing it again, but is US support for Israel a result of a Zionist conspiracy, or is it the result of the widespread perception that Israel - a largely white, western-oriented, capitalist society - is a necessary counterweight to the emergence of radical Arab states run by dark-skinned people with distinctly non-Western views? We cannot say that this perception is the result of Zionist propaganda, because exactly the same perception has led to US support for similar regimes all over the world, regardless of human rights violations or even long-term expediency. Our leaders tend to support people who look, think, and talk like us. This often gets us into trouble. By no means unique to the Middle East.

But if you can't even figure out what my name is, I don't expect you to see the pattern I just described. I still wonder why you try so hard to find reasons to attack the Jews, among all those who deserve our disapproval. Was your concern for the Palestinians matched by a similar concern for the blacks in the apartheid days of South Africa?
