Since L M Ericsson seems unable to figure out the funtionality of chip rate, as shown by them cutting the chip rate for the VW40 to a senseless figure having started out with a useless figure which they have been working on all this decade, then they don't seem fit to be involved in designing cdma2000 systems anyway. These are complex systems and companies which can't get chip rates right are just going to muck things up and bring cdma2000 into disrepute. They seem unable to produce competitive GSM or TDMA handsets these days either, with Nokia zooming ahead of them hugely. So just what purpose does L M Ericsson serve for we Q! shareholders? They'll never garner cdma2000 market share to speak of and any they customers that they might get by accident or indifference to brand could as well be supplied by one of the many many other cdmaOne licensees who will become cdma2000 licensees. They don't seem to be worth the trouble, noise and confusion they are causing. They seemed useful a couple of years ago, but now it seems they might be most useful feeding hagfish. But hagfish aren't cannibals, so they might fail at that too. [Sorry to the genuinely decent L M Ericsson employees who have to earn a living and are struggling to keep the ship afloat and doing their best for customers, but the leaders of your company are not worth following]. SurferM, who is expert in these matters and orthogonality, SuperDs and the two stick theory of wave functions and the ITU suggested call and raise. That seems to be the correct strategy. Enough pussy-footing around. The whole situation is now as plain as day. The king isn't wearing any clothes! Imagine being naked in Stockholm at this time of year. Okay, Ericy, raise you $10bn dollars! Don't phone us until you have the cash on the table. We'll be over here getting cdma2000 ready with DoCoMo, Lucent, NT, Motorola and the gang. We'll be getting IP ready with WirelessKnowledge too. Mqurice
