Russ... One way to figure out which brokerage firm is going short on a stock in a big way, using house positions, is to go back around 6 or 7 months to see if they have bought any sizeable amounts in the open market... If not, then one can assume that they are going short or they are selling stock against delivery of either option stock and or private placement paper or shorting against exercisable warrants, all at a predetermined price point.. etc....

Prime and most recent example that I know of is LAB/vse... Canacord sold over 1 million shares into the open market...Go back almost a year, Never ever have they even come close to purchasing that many shares...This occurred over a period of one month and finished when the stock slipped below .15...

They have yet to come into the market and cover... Obviously CC got delivery of the certs...

Russ... One kink I forgot to mention regarding the House Positions... Thanks to a reminder from a PM... When these Vancouver whorehouses start jitney trading, it throws a kink into the whole system... I use the HP's in order to find out who is accumulating stock and at what price point...After that you have to watch which house is doing all the selling... If they haven't been buyer's before, they might also be jitney sellers on top of all the other reason's I mentioned before (shorting against delivery of options, etc..etc...) ...ed
