Gersh; Generally, Small caps do pop up before a big fall,
how ever they are less liquid and can be hard to get out of,
AND a pop up is not supposed to be at the expense of the
big caps
if that happens the rally is false.
After big caps sell off enough any gains the small ones made
vanish fast , in other words a small cap rally is A OK and
safe even if it over takes the big caps, but it's not safe if
the big caps are falling.
Here are just 3 I track,
quote.yahoo.com
most of the other sml caps are up like that, note they have
out run the S&P nicely since OCT 10th, and they may continue,
but only if the BIG caps don't sell off.
