As I said and I'll repeat, these issues you raise as to who the Republicans should "reach" out to is immaterial to the matter at hand. This issue needs to be decided on it's own merits. You diminish the issue, which as I've posted here, is a very serious matter, by suggesting that building the Republican party is a reason to let impeachment drop. That's just wrongIMHO. Just heard a poll result by the by. CNN- fully 50% of the people don't care at all if the President is impeached. I don't think we should be telling our kids that they need to be honest if in a court, but the President is a special case. He simply shouldn't be- no matter what Chuck Shumer said today.
