I could be wrong, but I believe that the real strategy behind the affiliates program is not so much aimed at developing products directly for NN, but rather to enhance the infrastructure of voice/data networks in general to create a larger market for NN's core products. The affiliates are like children. At some point they are grown up enough to send out into the world on their own. The fact that NN makes money on its children is just a bonus. Most of us have to pay (big time) to get rid of the kids. <g>
