Shane, I do not follow Checkfree, but I used to use them for by bill paying through Quicken. Six months ago I switched banks to Comerica and began using their bill payment service through Quicken. Comerica uses Checkfree too (so I still do), but it is transparent. the users don't know it's checkfree.

It is an excellent service and I've never had a problem with them; I only gave complimentary things to say. However, I cannot understand how they will ever make money. Are they making money now? It is too cheap. When I was with them directly, I paid $6 a month for 30 checks (more checks were extra). This includes the cost of producing the checks, postage, and envelopes. True, some of the checks are done through electronic transfer, but with mine it was probably less than 30% of the total number. I am not sure it's a very different story when they deal directly with a bank.

Consequently, it's a very low margin business. I remember reading that they weren't making money. Beyond that I haven't looked at it. It is a good product though.
