peter, this is rank speculation fueled by alan greenspan printing money hand over fist and the majority of it is going into bubble equities.

i'll bet that eventually amzn will trade 90% below where it is now. it may take a while. maybe a long while. it will get there. why? the net benefits the customer and companies will have to compete on price b/c of the ease of information flow.

this will increase sales of low margin items and reduce the sales of higher margin items.

btw, amzn may go to $300 before tumbling. but, it will tumble b/c there is nothing there there.

James, Jan, Glen:

Is there anyone here that believes that the price of amzn is related to the present or future
value of the company?? Is this strictly a momentum play?

Pete

Peter,

I do not believe this stock fundamentally is worth anything cloe to this. I now went long since fighting the tape short, has caused financial harm.

Glenn

Pete,<Is this strictly a momentum play?>
Either that or a flight to quality (just kidding).
Going into next year it should be interesting. It appears that everyone is getting goosey about declining earnings. Sooner or later the 'Things' will be looked at more closely.
