SB - actually it's about political entrapment - however pious the assertions are to the contrary. Of course, if a man was simon pure he wouldn't be trapped - but my feeling is that the public see it for what it is and show a great deal of maturity on this issue. The votes on the committee on strict party lines only re-inforce the public's perceptions. Too many pots calling too many kettles black. You can fool people part of the time, etc., etc.,. The Procecutor didn't get the goods on him on the essential part of the enquiry - the Paula Jones case was a gift from heaven (or hell depending on your outlook) - but you don't have to turn over too many stones there to see that there was a lot of right wing backing for Paula who was encouraged to file the day before the time prescription ran out, and her case was financed by Clinton's enemies. So much of this is transparent, and apparent. E

Mr. Bug,

You keep referring to BC's behavior as felonious. Don't you actually mean fellatious? -g-

Best regards, John.

Skeeter, Clinton's policies and some key people(Rubin) have been very good. I am also uneasy with Gore. But, even so, I believe people must pay for their actions, and I also believe the USA will suffer if Clinton doesn't have to pay some consequences because of his actions. (And I am talking about perjury, coverup, influencing witnesses, etc., not just sex)

Look at Mike Espy, former congressman and Secy of Agriculture. This man violated the ethics that the Clinton White House set up, and violated the law by accepting benefits from companies regulated by the Ag Dept. He was found not guilty by a DC jury. However, he has paid for his disregard for rules and laws. He has had several years effectively knocked out of his life and has incurred large legal expenses. Even though Clinton had a big ceremony in DC yesterday and unveiled Espy's portrait as a Secy of Ag, the man's life will never be what it could have been had he not taken $35,000 in freebies. He has paid.

Clinton, if impeached, will pay even if not voted out of office by the Senate. It will put a blight on his record. If a censure compromise results, it should have heavy monetary penalties (similar to military punishments where a portion of a person's pension is forfeited) For the long-term good of the country and to show people that no one is above the law, Clinton should pay in some way.

Please excuse the sermon. It is hard not to get carried away.
