OT OT database software

Yes ifmx (or for that matter sybs) would be attractive takeover candidates for any number of companies - CA, IBM etc. as long as msft doesnt kill the database engine market with a sql server product that is cheaper than anybody elses product and bundled with NT. If that happens, then no one will be able to use ifmx... well, thats not true actually, sometimes acquisitions occur for the craziest reasons, but in general look at novell a few years ago (before Schmidt). They were in quite a quandry and Im sure a suitor would have been considered then... but no takers, because the msft threat was just too immense. So, ifmx as a takeover speculation is kind of a longshot. However, Manugistics is trading up on takeover rumors - take a look at the dbms apps, vntv, sebl, itwo etc. theres no msft threat there and many of them are down 80% from their highs.... as I am painfully aware.

:-p
