Joe, Let's do a little math here. You say that we can confirm a short in the "millions". Personally I think that it's much larger, (more like 10 million shares) but let's just assume that it's only 2 million shares for this example. As I understand the Wavetech merger will require calling in, cancelling and reissuing new shares, hence the short, whatever it is must be completely covered when this event occurs. If we assume that the Wavetech deal is done by the first of Feb. (correct me if this date is wrong, I have heard a couple different ones) then this leaves about 34 days counting today for that short to be covered. Now lets see here, if the outstanding short was covered equally starting today and we are talking 2 million shares, then that works out to about 59,000 shares of buying for 34 consecutive days. (GGG) It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what that amount of buying over that period could do to our stock price, given that we have been running sub 100K days and many of those shares are not even retail trades, just between MM's. If I am right about the short being as large as 10 million, we are looking at 294,000 shares of buying for the last 34 trading days leading up to the Wavetech merger....hmmm. A bomb is ticking here and it has a very "short" fuse it appears to me. I would be nervous too, if I were playing the short side. (GG) tick, tick, tick..... (GG)
