Is BCE and Nortel more interested in promoting DSL Lite with the 1 Meg Modem than they are in promoting cable modem access? Does this explain the recent decision to transfer the broadband division to Antec. After reading the foregoing post, I just realized that DSL Lite access and cable modem access are competing technologies. BCE, who owns 40% of Nortel, has an important financial interest in promoting splitterless DSL. They already have the technology from Nortel in the form of the 1 Meg Modem and there is very little additional investment in infrastructure. Comments please.
