Sounds like a good plan, SW, esp if the 32 M ram is upgradable (should be, but they might have cut corners there.

If he does this, and fiddles with it some, he may eventually even feel comfortable either getting a build-to-order or even making his own sometime in 99. Since he'll already be leagally licensed for 98 and have his software, this will save him big $ over what Gateway or others would offer him. Plus he'll get to have more choices.

One other thought: if he gets a nice monitor, he might try to get one with BNC as well as D-sub connectors. That way, he can use one monitor with both of his PCs without switching cables.
