Lynn: There are other ways stocks move up and down. Sometimes it is on very light volume with small bids or ask moving the stock along. This can move a low volume stock up or down, but it can also become a trap for an investor. When the price direction turns one may find it hard to cover as fills may be slow while the stock moves against you.

Watch time and sales data on stocks that are oscillating and learn, before you use it to commit your funds. Spend some serious time doing this...

For a short time bid/ask may give you indication of the price
movement for immediate future (a few seconds) but that doesn't do you
much good. It is hard for you to catch that short moment. The better
way to gauge the bigger future movement is to check out how many
shares are accumulated by the institutions.
