Apratim -
I have not come to any firm conclusion about DELL yet - I am only looking at the possibilities. The current trading pattern is not unusual for DELL. It could well spike up again. They could do something between now and next earnings which would build my confidence. The company is one of the strongest and best managed in the sector. But my current thinking is to lighten up at least a little early in the year.

I will be past the cap gains date in another week, so it at least becomes possible to adjust my position without giving more to Uncle Sam than I would have. I will certainly not do anything before the first of the year, and I doubt that there will be any pressure to make a quick move at any time. I don't foresee DELL being much below its current levels for long at any time in the future, if that is any consolation.
