David, I agree. But I think the combined units of SVCD just shipped over 1 million units. (please verify with CUBE and ESS operations, these two companies know the answer) VCD is with very low margins. SuperVCD is the only chip that can make large amount of money for CUBE or ESST in the consumer Video market. For how long? I don't know. WINBOND is getting ready for SuperVCD. And the Chinese has several companies working on their own VCD/SuperVCD and even DVD decoder chips. In about two years, the price of SuperVCD will be similar to VCD and DVD is not in any better shape. Steve
