Savings Rate.
Lee:
Another thing is that the statistics on savings rate do not take in to account the amount of money that goes in to the purchase of homes, which should be part of the savings rate calculation but is not at the present time if I am not mistaken.

NASD PROPOSES CREATING TWO QUOTES FOR SOME NASDAQ STOCK ORDERS

This two quote system would affect "limit orders."
They propose creating two categories of stock quotes for many Nasdaq orders---one for investors, the other for a brokerages's own trades.

The NASD plan approved calls for dealers, who now display just one limit-order quote, to post two for each stock. This would make the true markets for the two sets of orders more transparent according to NASD President Rick Ketchum.

Current rules require the best price---whether from an investor or proprietary order--to be displayed in the Nasdq stock quote.

When their price is superior, investor orders for a small number of shares can eclipse higher-volume proprietary orders in the limit-order quote.
