i recall reading on the netscape download site that as long as the previous (or existing) version isn't giving you any problems, then it is okay to download on top of it.

Gottfried, you are right. I remember downloading the 4.5 with the .exe file on C:\. Guess I could save my user/bookmark files on floppy, delete the whole thing, hit the .exe file and let it load. I'll be careful not to load all the goodies, (Smart Download) for sure.

I have always downloaded on top of old ver. and never any problem. Have ordered 4.5 on CD ($10 + 3 s/h). Will wait for it. I cannot access NSCP, well I can, but when it starts to download, I get the Error. Only thing I can access and download successful is Microsoft.
Cannot find NSCP there <g>.
