...and it was set up as follows:

Bought $100 @ closing price on first trading day of the year.

'98 Distributions were entered as negative "commissions".

So...

for EWG - WEBS Germany the kapital gain since 02-JAN-98 is equal to "Current Value" minus $100 = ~15.03%

...and the distribution is equal to $100 minus "Tax Cost" = ~$1.51 on $100 actual purchase.

The total YTD gain for EWG is about equal to "Portfolio Change".

This was the simplest way for me to include the distributions in SI's portfolio thingy, there being no direct facility for this in their software. Some of the distributions, like EWK - WEBS Belgium, for example, were huge.

Either I or someone else can update this table again on the first trading day of 1999, $100 worth of each, no distributions; and we can follow the relative YTD performance of the world stock markets, FWIW.
