it was out of canada... they were given a 72 hour notice actually so the actual buy in day was the 15th. decided not to wait. whoever the stock was borrowed from pulled it. that's how it was explained to me. given i covered at 9 9/16, i could have done worse. i have never had this happen to me either but when i talked to my broker (who i trust), he said this happens sometimes. I think Canada borrows from DTC in a different fashion or something. One thing for sure. It did happen.
