Joe, What if you asked the people whether, for the good of the nation, you should be killed, and majority agreed? Most value judgments are measurements of degree. I think you are taking the analogy a little too far. Here is my take: 1. The Republican leadership thinks that they own the White House. 2. They started a game of seriously dirty politics to knock off Clinton 6 years ago. 3. They never expected Clinton to survive (much less prosper) their high-powered assault for so long. 3.
