Sorry w, VLSI began work on the CDMA chip before DOT existed. Originally partnering with Nextwave, when Qualcomm pulled the plug on Nextwave's hardware group, VLSI stepped in and helped start DOT Wireless (of which VLSI is an owner). DOT assisted VLSI with some of the design work, but the majority was done by VLSI engineers in San Jose, which work continues today. I'm afraid I know those people, so my comments are first hand. Jim
