dave, could be. there are always reasons to lie. can i lie in court to protect my family if i cheat? if i steal? if i murder? after all, i'm protecting my family. i always thought that is why people were sworn in under oath - so they wouldn't have the excuse of lying for personal or other reasons. "the whole truth and nothing but the truth." "i do." NOT!!! it would also seem he is now lying about his obvious perjury to protect... his family? or himself? i'd put forth that somebody so utterly self centered as he appears to be lied to protect himself (from his family) and is still lying to protect himself (his job).
