You are correct...that is why companies like CIEN and others will prosper in the future. The whole problem with the internet, today, is lack of bandwidth. I WISH I could get a decent connection to the internet. I've been using the internet for over 10 years, and my consulting practice has had a web page for over 3 years. It is essential to my business. But, because I "live off the beaten path", I can't get a connection better than X2...unless I want to pay through the nose (like over $400 per month). I run a lot of X-windows applications at the University, and trying to do that over an X2 connection is like pulling teeth. I will be able to get XDSL, eventually, at speeds up to 8 MB/sec, but that is probably at least 9 months away. Eventually, I think that wireless internet access will be the way to go, whether it is through satellite in a few years, or through the new frequencies allocated by the FCC and utilized by companies like WCII. Since I design and develop wireless communications circuits and systems, I like that area; but, from a pricing point of view, it makes a great deal of sense. Have a good weekend, Ed
