You have misread, I think, my use of the word "investigation." Not all investigation requires a "government department" to occur. Were I one of the Rep.'s constituents, I would welcome media scrutiny being focused on the Rep.'s speech, and I would write the Rep. myself. Soliciting the views of an elected official doesn't imply the existence of "thought police." Rep. Barr will answer to the voters.
