Same old battle, tech2000, The IS managers in the companies want to have an alternative, but the Suits in corporate love windows, and will keep them with Gates.

Totally agree.
A decision to move away from Gates is a risk they don't want to take.
I think they worry about having to switch back to MSFT in the future - and put out some more cash. Who wants to bet against a company with so much R and D and cash. Even a product that functions better than anything MSFT puts out, is no guarantee the Suits will want to swith. They know MSFT will keep improving it for a long time.
