Just returned from Borders Book Store where I bought Tom Clancy's
Rainbow Six, currently on NYT's best sellers list. Borders discounts best sellers 30%. List price $ 27.95 less 30% discount for cost of $19.60
plus sales tax of $1.18 for total cost of $20.78 The book was gift wrapped for free. I rushed home to see how much I would have saved by
buying the same book at AMAZON.COM. Cost of book at AMZN $22.36, shipping $ 3.95 and gift wrapping $2.00 for a total cost of $28.31. I saved $7.31 by shopping at Borders. What am I missing. Why has the world gone bananas over AMZN and other bookstores on the internet. By the way, Borders was paying local high school students $6.00 per hour
for gift wrapping. The kids in turn were donating the $ 6.00 to help
needy people in the community for the holidays. Comments please on why buying a book from AMZN is such an extraordinary experience.
