>>(the Disney example is about to be extended to their new portal, and doesn't NBC have a portal too?). And here in Chicago and other major cities, Tribune Co. has all sorts of interlocks in its revenue streams. Should WGN-TV discount its ad revenues from Cubs games because Tribune owns both?<<

NBC has a relationship with snap.com not sure of ownership interest, but a business relationship exists there.

You from Chicago? Didn't know that. Maybe I'll run into you some time.

As far as WGN discounting ad revenues from Cubs games, that might have occurred in the past, but I wouldn't expect it to continue. Mark my words that at some time the Trib will sell the Cubs and will want all operating entities to accurately reflect their profitability. That means accurate charges and fees between the different entities. Notice how many Cubs games came off WGN this year? That's the start.

MadDog,

I bet your post will not not make it to the front page. Wonder why ? Could it be because SI competes for the same eyeballs which it lost to YHOO ? And would YHOOs downfall represent a windfall to SI ?

Whoever said the world was fair...!!?!

Maddog, you logic is flawed

NBC is wholly owned by GE, it doesn't trade separately

WGN is wholly owned by Tribune, it doesn't trade separately

ABC is wholly owned by Disney, it doesn't trade separately.

If NBC was giving 8% of the revenue to Snap, or Disney to Go, I think you should factor that in.

Conflicts don't exist with wholly-owned subsidiaries.

Some more information about the Snap/NBC connection. Snap is owned by CNET, Inc. (CNWK) Website cnet.com

>>Note: 6/98, Company issued 812,800 shares to NBC pursuant to a stock purchase agreement.<<

That's out of about 17,000,000 CNWK shares outstanding. If I get more details, I'll share them.
