Richard,

I figured you'd be the first to come to Mark's defense. However, far be it for me to get into a debate with you on this issue. Your comments in response to my reply to your prior ridiculing of a priest appointed as a member of the advisory committee were very moving and I'll never forget them. I still don't believe they justify belittling the priesthood by you or anyone else, even in jest. However, one of the beauties of this country comes in the general freedom of speech that our constitution guarantees.

I have no problem apologizing, if someone feels that I actually insulted their religion. To do so, would be the furthest thing from any desire that I hold.

On the other hand, I have to admit that I do resent having that accusation thrown at me, for what I can tell, is no apparent reason
