Hello Joan,

Thanks for the links.

If Clinton resigns (fat chance) or a 2/3 majority of the Senate (I predict they wouldn't even get 1/2 the millionaires club to say aye on this, given the lack of public outrage) votes to remove him from office, the Republicans' are going to look pretty blatantly partisan going after Gore--not that they seem to care how they look to 2/3 of the population.

Yes, I bet some of them would love to get rid of Gore as well and put the Republican speaker in the White House. But the vast majority of the hardcore impeachment proponents are either genuinely convinced that what Clinton did was so wrong that he deserves to be removed from office (that includes folks like Abdul Haq) or are inspired by their irrational and visceral hatred of Clinton and all they believe he represents (that includes someone like the JLA/bp of this thread). I just don't think they'll be able to get it up for Gore. He doesn't light their partisan fires like Clinton does. You really have to be motivated to defy the will of the American public and pursue something like this to your political grave.

kindest regards and happy holidays!
Borzou

What they wanted to do back in 1997 is to impeach the President and then Al Gore which would have left GINGRICH to be President. The plan was long before the Wililinsky problem. IMHO the REPUBLICANS were out to impeach him no matter what.

How sad

Remember, NIXON got in trouble because the Republicans again wanted to stay in POWER . This is NOT about SEX, this is about removing the President.....
What a sad day this is.
Folks, we are losing our freedom and you are all blind to this fact.
