roq, i think slick is going to stay in office. this deal is going across political lines and the senate doesn't have enough republicans to convict and clinton is too arrogant to resign. that, to me, is the reality.

having said that, i think he ought to pay for the disgrace that he is. he lies about smokin' dope, he lies about lowering taxes, he lies about gennifer flowers, he slimed genifer flowers (he did finally admit he boinked gennifer in a deposition when under oath so he doesn't ALWAYS lie about such things), he lied about monica, he slimed monica, he perjured himself on several occasions and only admitted the truth when faced with physical evidence. frankly, i don't trust anything about the guy other than the fact he'd lie in a heartbeat if it was convenient.

believe it or not, though, i'd rather have this dope in office than a republican so i'm not disappointed he's probably going nowhere. ;-)

i think the republicans would also rather have him in office. al gore comes off as an intellectual dope to much of the country. goodness, i feel like i'm 6 years old and getting a lecture during his speeches. if clinton goes then al bore gets a shot at looking presidential and has a decent shot at winning in 2000. if he stays where he isthe republicans have an advantage.

congress is just trying to slime bill with the 1/100 chance a few senate democrats pile on and boot him. 99/100 it ain't gonna happen.
