Robert, I don't agree with Clinton's actions either. But I am an old foggey who clings to the notion that the electorate should be trusted to choose our elected officials and every poll indicates that the American public does not want the impeachment to continue.

The Republican Congress has already indicated that it will also begin impeachment investigations against Gore and is unlikely to confirm any Democratic candidate to replace Gore as VP.

Whether we like it or not, the public chose to have one party control Congress and the other to be President. It disturbs me greatly to watch the Reublicans trying to win by impeachment what they can't win at the ballot box. The rebound of this crap will be a landslide win of both Congress and the Presidency by the Democrats in 2000. And I don't think that is good either, I like the two party system with reasoned debate and compromise. This is being destroyed and replaced by a parlimentary system where he who controls Congress controls everything.

This is not about Clinton, it is about who controls the US government and respect of the public's right to elect the President.
