yes, I prefer e-mail. I can set up a folder and have the QP messages go to it. I can keep or delete those messages I want to. It gives an opportunity to those non-SI members to participate. I can't imagine using archives to follow thread.

The list would supplement, not replace this topic.

Ken,

personally I really prefer Mailing lists for many reasons...

1. Can use complete HTML Formatting (Can't do that here).

2. More advanced quoting and reply to features that SI offers.

3. Better thread management tools than SI offers.

4. Can send attachments to the list (Can't do that on SI).

5. Can organize posts better using my mailers filtering tools.

6. I can archive posts locally on my machine or use the web interface.

I don't know what you mean by finding it hard to follow threads. I reommend spending some time with your mailer and discover the power that lies there. What mailer are you using? Pegasus, Eudora, Outlook and MS or NS Browser V4 mailers all have these features.
