Was looking at Kaufmann Fund/ASTM connection, trying to figure out what was attractive to those guys. Anyway, here is their philosophy:

Investment Objectives & Strategies:
Capital Appreciation
The Fund seeks capital appreciation by investing principally in common stocks.
The investment objective of the Fund is capital appreciation. Production of income is incidental to this objective. There is no assurance that the Fund will achieve its investment objective.

Among factors the Fund considers when selecting investments in companies are (i) the growth prospects for a company's products, (ii) the economic outlook for its industry, (iii) a company's new product development, (iv) its operating management capabilities, (v) the relationship between the price of the security and its estimated fundamental value, (vi) relevant market, economic and political environments, and (vii) financial characteristics such as balance sheet analysis and return on assets.
