Annette,

I don't speak for the rest of the iMac owners, but yes, I know that there is a monthly internet connection fee. Mine is $15. And I don't even use it for recipes! I'm guessing, but I think there may be more home users like me than professional graphics people like you, whatever their computer brand. I stepped up from my 1984 Fat Mac that I upgraded to 4megs, etc. My iMac is at least 100x more computer than my last one and is completely satisfactory.

Why are you so down on iMac buyers? We are the ones putting the black ink in Apple's books lately. Chill.

Chas

Gee, I wonder if these IMac buyers know that step three is paying monthly for the internet connection!!!!
The cute computer on the kitchen counter that retrieves recipes actually has a monthly fee??? Oh no..... ;-)

Gee, who would have realized without your enlightenment? But did you know that Step One (plug in) also results in a monthly bill from your electric company? The audacity of these capitalistic pigs.

One would think that every iMac would come bundled with a portable nuclear power plant, ISP, and of course, the all essential floppy drive for $999.

You know Annette, there may be an angle there that some wise ISP with lots of POPs might exploit to their advantage. Picture Earthlink offering the Internet to the computer uninitiated in a red hot deal of $49 a month for the first 36 months with a brand new iMac to make the connection. ; ^)
