Hi top fuel it is good to see your conviction is as strong as mine, I too am in the process of converting some mutual funds into tsig. I am having trouble doing that because of poor customer service from my brokerage. Imho, the customer service from tsig is by far superior to that of a major brokerage hows that handles gazillion dollars. Anyway below is a short story I posted to a poster on the rb thread who once posted that he gave up poker for the pennies. Being a ex poker player myself it pretty much sums up my feelings about where tsig is heading. Hope you enjoy it.
Hey lucky, good to see your price projections as well. Was it you that called me crazy for my projections? It was wasn't. LOL. O'well irregardless if my expectations are meant or yours we both agree that 99 is going to be a banner year for tsig.
Btw, didn't I read once that you gave up poker for the pennies? Remember how when you were playing poker it wasn't the monster powerhouse hands that won the big pots? Every notice how when you had the powerhouse it always seemed like you won a small pot? The big pots were had when my three aces beat out three kings and two pair stepped in the middle. Or my A K flush beat out the A Q flush and a straight. Ever play seven card stud? Let me give you an example. Your hole cards are As, Ks, first card Qs, you look around that table, you see the rest of the A's & K's even distributed, low card brings it in for the minimum bet, you call as well as two others, next card Js, pretty good but you have nothing, three cards to go you bet, 1 caller, next card 10s, you got the monster royal flush, you check so the other fellows can catch up, next card 9s, your hand is now exposed :-) check, check, next card down, you bet, opponent throws his hand away. Profit, the antes, three minimum bets, one bet on third street minus the rake, small pitiful pot.
Now the real hand TSIG hole cards As,Ah, first card 2c, tsig brings it in, everybody calls, 2nd card 6d, you look across the table and you see AMZN has Ks, Kc showing, amzn bets, tsig calls as well as the rest of the table, next card, tsig 9d, amzn 8d, amzn bets, everybody calls, next card tsig Ac, amzn 3h. TSIG has two aces in the hole, showing 2c,6d,9d Ac. Amzn has showing Ks, Kc, 8d,3h. One card left to go, you look around the table, in the other hands you see the Kd, two other eights, two other three's, you notice you don't see any duece's, sixes, nines or the case ace. amzn bets, it's your move, what do you do now?
Methinks that's the rumbling merlin feels. continuing
The answer is to raise! Oh no, amzn raises back, immediately, no hesitation! Fear breaks out, beads of sweat start forming on my brow, what cam amzn have in the hole? Kh,3d? That would give amzn a full house, it seems as tho time as stopped as my fear sets in, I look at the table, I look around the casino, I see thousands maybe millions of onlookers, their mouths are moving but I hear no sounds, it's like I'm in a trance. I look at the other players, I see K-tel, i remember that K-tel had a streak of luck earlier in the evening and had won a lot of chips. But K-tel is playing badly now, playing every hand and his pile of chips are going down rapidly. The other players and I realize that it is only going to be a matter of time before K-tel goes “all in” I suspect that soon K-tel will be busted and we will have a seat open. I look at the board, do we have a player to take his place? I see a long list of players waiting. The boardman is calling down another game!! I hear the names, onsl, lcos, cdwi, music something or other. He makes it a “must move” game-- we are still the main game. I look behind K-tel, I see his banker, he has a frown on his face, his arms are folded and his fists are clenched. He keeps on getting calls from angry lawyers. No worry here, I breathe a sigh of relief has K-tel throws his hand away. Seated next to k-tel is cdnw, he has a big stack of chips in front of him, he has been playing ok but has made some mistakes, his stack of chips used to be much bigger is now growing smaller. Behind cdnw I see his banker, he doesn't look to concerned and everytime cdnw chips get low he seems to replace them. Another sigh of relief as cdnw throws his hand away. Next to cdnw is ntki, ntki has been playing much the same way as cdnw, with much the same results. I look at ntki's banker, I notice that he and the cdnw banker keep on going into the corner and talking in hushed tones. I wonder what is up with that, maybe they are playing partners? If so I wonder why they are sitting next to each other, partner playing poker players normally sit on opposite sides of the table so they can get a better view of the table and it is easier to give signals that way to control the table. O'well, I know that I am a strong player and I have beat partners before. I'm confidant that if I continue to play as well I am I will eventually beat them as well. I breathe another sigh of relief as ntki throws his hand away. Next to ntki sits ebay, geez does he ever have a huge pile of chips in front of him. He didn't even bring his banker with him for this game. He looks confused, like a fish out of water, I wonder if perhaps a seat in another game might be more appropriate for him. O'well maybe I can pick off some of his chips, he reminds me of the slot player that just won a big jackpot and is now playing in my game, should be easy pickings here. Next to ebay is bamm, same story as ebay, I notice his stack of chips tho is getting rapidly distributed around the table. He looks concerned , I think he will probably cash in his chips soon and take a seat on a table more to his liking. I look at amzn , his stare is intimidating, I see his banker at the bar, the big fat guy that is heavily tipping everybody in sight. His bankroll is huge, everytime amzn makes a mistake he wanders over to the table and brings more chips.
Amzn thumps the table “c'mon are you going to play or not” I come out of my trance and look at my two aces in the hole. The odds are in my favor, I have three choices, to raise, throw my hand away or call. It is now only amzn and tsig left in the hand. I decide to call, one more card left, down and dirty, I pray to the poker gods, give me the case ace or a pair to make my full house. A hush comes over the casino, all eyes are on us, the pot is huge. I look at the dealer, he starts to deal when amzn stops him. I look at amzn, he looks at me as he rises out of his seat. I rise as well we are looking at each other eyeball to eyeball, shoulder to shoulder as amzn extends his hand and gives me a hearty handshake. We both agree, the pot is huge, there will be losers in this game but it will be neither of us as we agree to split the pot without ever looking at the last card.
